The same for your city
Seen what was made for Bydgoszcz? I may already have footage of your city.
Tools for promoting a city
- ready
Captioned 360° films
Guided flights over the city with every word on screen — ready to embed on your website and to watch in VR headsets.
- to be made
A VR station at events
Headsets at fairs and city festivals: a flight over the city without leaving the tent.
- to be made
Big screen or touch kiosk
In a tourist information centre, visitors turn the view themselves with a finger.
- to be made
Dome or 360° room
A flight over the city without headsets, on a dome or on the walls of a 360° room. I prepare the file in the venue's format.
- to be made
3D scans with a QR code
A QR code at a landmark opens its 3D model on the phone: turn it, look at the roof and the tower. On Android it also works in AR.
- to be made
A cut-away of a landmark
In the browser you lift the roof or a wall and see the interior up close, from a height you could never climb to.
- to be made
3D games and tours in the browser
Nothing to install — like my drone simulator ShramkoGSFPV, which flies over real 3D scans.
- to be made
An open library of city scans
Scans under CC BY 4.0 for games, student projects and research, with the author credited. We blur faces and number plates.
- to be made
Location scans for film crews
Streets and squares as 3D scenes for virtual production: crews shoot on location and do the pick-ups on the scan.
Where the money can come from
EU funds already pay for virtual heritage in Polish cities. Ruda Śląska financed its “Virtual monuments” project — laser 3D scans, models, virtual tours and video — from the regional EU programme for Silesia, as a digital public service.
So a scan of a landmark need not come from the tourism budget alone. We are not the applicant: we can point your city, museum or parish to a programme and work as the contractor.
Formalities
I handle the aviation formalities (PAŻP and ULC) myself.
From the city I need permission for the take-off sites, and at landmarks and indoors, the administrator's consent.
How to start
- Watch one of the films.
- A 30-minute conversation — online or at your office.
- A pilot for one place.
Your city
Name the city and leave an e-mail. I will check what footage I already have and reply.
Thank you — your message has arrived
Andrii Shramko will reply to the e-mail address you gave.
Questions
How can a city promote tourism with 360° VR films?
Embed captioned 360° films on the city's website and social media, show them in VR headsets at fairs and events, or on a large screen in a tourist information centre. Embedding from YouTube needs no paperwork; screenings are agreed separately.
Who can make a 3D scan of a historic church viewable in AR via a QR code?
I scan landmarks from the ground and from the air as 3D Gaussian-splat models. A QR code at the church can open the model in the phone's browser; on Android it can also be placed in AR. Interiors need the parish's consent.
Accessible tourism video for deaf visitors — examples in Poland?
Every film of this series has open captions burned into the 360° picture: every word of the guide is on screen. The captions are in English for now; you can ask for a version with Polish captions.
How can a city share 3D scans with game makers and students?
Through an open library under CC BY 4.0: anyone may use the scans, also commercially, as long as they credit the author. I already publish my own scenes this way on SuperSplat.
Do you already have footage of my city?
Possibly. Besides the cities on this site, I have footage of other places that is not edited yet. Name your city in the form and I will check.
